364/365 Exhausted.

Being the hands of feet of Jesus can be exhausting.  Team Schlatter stepped in to help friends with a house closing/moving this weekend.  It included many trips from Washington to Mt. Pleasant, lots of laughter, a small flood, a fast trip to Menard's, food, and lots of love.  Amazing how God leads you right where you need to be if you will listen.

363/365 Rachel's Quilt.

 

With Team Schlatter studying about pioneer times in home school we soon found ourselves in the sewing room.  Which brought about the make-it challenge for Christmas gifts.  This is the quilt we made for cousin Rachel, we used her photo from her diabetes walk t-shirts.  What surprised my husband the most was I found a pattern online and made a plan before diving in! 

362/365 Last Christmas.

 

Team Schlatter had our last Christmas of the season today.  A day filled with food, family, and fun!

361/365 Motorcycle.

Making it his own :)  He is ready for the snow to melt so he can get it out for his first ride.

360/365 Old/New.

Team Schlatter had the usual for Thursday -- Grandma Vivian at 10:30, lunch at KFC, Goodwill, Ace, and Wal-Mart.  At Goodwill I picked up this mini-skirt.  At home I headed to the craft room with a mission to make a new laptop bag.

359/365 Merry Christmas.

 

Merry Christmas from Team Schlatter.  Hard to believe it was a year ago today I was given my new camera.  What a blessing it was to be given a new point of view :)

358/365 Quarter Day.

 

Do you ever have one of those gifts you just can't wait to give?  This was it for me -- a dress shirt apron, a mini dress shirt apron made from the sleeve, and two hair bows again one for my niece and one for her new American Girl.  Best part for this frugal girl, bought the shirt on quarter day at Goodwill :)  The make it challenge was a huge success for Team Schlatter, loved the challenge!

357/365 Advice.

Team Schlatter is hustling and bustling in the craft room trying to get all the last minute projects finished.  Can't wait till I can post pictures of what has been happening in secret the last 45 days!

356/365 Heaven?

Ben and I had to represent Team Schlatter in the barn today, Dad is still under the weather, and Briana-Sue is getting caught up on some much needed sleep!  Always an adventure when out with this little man.

355/365 Carver-Hawkeye.

Team Schlatter had a great night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena watching #2 Iowa take on #1 Penn State.  Iowa fell short, but great family memories made.  Thankful that we made it home safely.

354/365 Dress-Shirt Aprons.

 

Team Schlatter was blessed with a Christmas celebration with friends.  The girls are modeling the dress-shirt aprons we made for them.  Love these little ladies!

353/365 Season Over.

 

The Team Schlatter girls watched Clara's last basketball game of 2013 tonight.  Not a win, but much improved from the beginning of the season.

Team Schlatter was awaken by Soldier barking like crazy today, here's why!  Not sure how long the cat was stuck in the tree.

Team Schlatter is trying to get ready for the holidays, tonight it was boys night out for shopping.  This is the only photo I got sent to me from their adventure!

Team Schlatter was shown great kindness today with this fabulous basket of homemade goodies and fruit.  What a blessing to have great tenants.

Team Schlatter was blessed by the power of technology tonight!  We got to video chat with MG, and the kids walked him around the house showing him all that has happened since he was here! Amazing.

348/365 Weigh-In Day.

Team Schlatter was at Henry County cattle weigh-in today, snow and all! 

First day towards fair 2014 - Baxter did great.

 As you can see from the picture, most pick black calves, some pick black and white,

but we pick WHITE and black :)

347/365 Iowa Wrestling.

Team Schlatter saw the best shirt at the meet on Thursday

"I Believe in God, Gable, and Iowa Hawkeye Wrestling".

346/365 4-H Cookies.

Team Schlatter along with the other Jefferson Juniors 4-H club decorated cookies for local nursing homes.  Lots of frosting and fun and laughter!  We have a great group of young 4-Her's. 

345/365 Sale Pending.

 

Team Schlatter had great news today, Broadway went from "For Sale" to "Accepted Offer" and now in the "Sale Pending" part of the realty process.  Blessed to have an awesome realtor.  Now we pray for a fast closing with no bumps in the road, and then we can truly celebrate!

Team Schlatter is making plans for our first Haiti trip of 2014.  We will again be going with the Water 4 Haiti crew.  This is their December newsletter.

Very few things get Team Schlatter's Briana-Sue up early, but this little gal gets her up every morning.  This twin is living the good life in a warm barn while she gets spoiled rotten by her caretaker.  What a blessing our new barn has been for everyone.

Funny thing about buying houses -- we have tried to buy MANY houses over the past year unsuccessfully.  Now in the matter of hours we have purchased two!  Team Schlatter and Victory Lane Adventures have their work cut out for them in 2014.

Sometimes we search for the house, sometimes the house finds us :)  Team Schlatter and Victory Lane Adventures added another house to our collection!

338/365 Clipper Time.

 

Team Schlatter got brave today and Briana-Sue assisted Mom with the clippers and Princess.  Both did a great job.  Princess doesn't like her picture taken, I mean really doesn't like her picture taken, but I think you can see we removed a lot of hair!

Team Schlatter got to cheer the 7th grade Lady Warriors onto a 28-10 victory, cousin Clara had a great game!

336/365 Lego Suite.

 

Team Schlatter was in the dining room today, or in our case the Lego room.  Ben designed this master bath suite.  I am amazed how he can take a Lego intended for one thing and make it another, such as a gun for the water spout.

334/365 Waste Not.

Grandma Vivian taught me at a young age to not waste anything.  I often laughed at all the things she saved, I will admit I am now a saver.  So after some of our current projects I had all these scarps of material -- Pinterest to the rescue!  I am turning scrapes into flowers and little girls in Haiti will LOVE their new hair bows, waste not, want not.  I will post a the finished product soon.

333/365 Nap Time.

Soup, snacks, cookie decorating, kolache making, talking, and laughing leads to nap time!

332/365 Kolaches.

Tradition, the act of handing down from one generation to another -- or in the Schmitz family the kolache.  Clear off the island, throw down some flour and roll out the dough, we have kolaches to make!

Team Schlatter got lots of hugs and squeezes in with this little peanut today, Cousin Clay's beautiful daughter Addy.

330/365 Egg Scale.

Pretty sure this is the only scale Team Schlatter will be using for a while with all the great food we have been feasting on!  Our Christmas present from Grandma and Grandpa.

Team Schlatter is always in charge of being Grandpa Ron's elf when it comes to shopping.  We hope they have enough room in the car heading south Monday for Grandma's new machine.

Team Schlatter got to enjoy their first Christmas with the Schmitz'.  We made the Schmitz dogs their own bed, Tucker the newest Schmitz was posing for our photo.

Thanks to the help of Ben, Team Schlatter got their bags packed for Honduras.  Thanks also goes to Spring Run Church for giving us these opportunities to serve with our children, priceless.

Team Schlatter has to get into the Christmas spirit early this year with Grandma and Grandpa Schmitz leaving the Monday after Thanksgiving for the winter!

Team Schlatter was packing a dozen "Bags of Love" for a orphanage in Honduras.  Imagine our surprise when we saw where the socks were made we were sending!

323/365 New Traditions.

New traditions for Team Schlatter this year, a day of shopping with Grandma and Grandpa Schmitz to help pick out some Christmas gifts!  New shoes, coats, legos, lunch, tears, and a whole lot of fun.

Team Schlatter is proud to announce we actually made something we pinned on Pinterest!  A new dog bed for Princess.

November posts have been full of thanks.  Today I look at a spoon with different eyes, thankful to have one of my own.  I don't take a bite and pass it to the next person.  Many thanks to those who have donated spoons to our Haiti spoon drive.

Team Schlatter girls headed north to see some Raiders basketball before Grandma and Grandpa headed south for the winter.

Ben has been at it again working in his room, today hieroglyphics.  Team Schlatter in pictures, what a blessing on our 16th anniversary!

317/365 Thank-You Quilt.

Team Schlatter could be found in the sewing room all week putting together a "thank-you" quilt for Coach Cinda.  What a blessing that Briana-Sue was able to run with Cinda in her first year of cross-country.  She has been a true Warrior battling this season.

We tried to let the barn cat get free last Saturday, but she kept coming back for more!
