27.6.13

178/365 Softball.

Team Schlatter had a busy day walking lambs, visiting Grandma Vivian, washing calves, and watching cousin Clara play ball.

177/365 Vulture.

I must admit when I snapped this photo at the Kansas City zoo on Friday I looked at this large bird with a little fear.  I must say after finding this verse, I still do!

25.6.13

176/365 His Path.

There are so many days I wish for a sign -- if only God would post them as clearly as the Kansas City zoo :)

24.6.13

175/365 Many Hands.

Many hands make light work.  What a blessing to live in small-town, USA.  Storm hits, and family and neighbors come from all directions to help the clean up.
(Photo taken at David's Aunt & Uncles farm 2 miles east of our home.)

174/365 Pain.

Sad late night at Team Schlatter's farm last night -- Annie's first calf didn't make it.

22.6.13

173/365 Time & Distance.

Love them -- blessed.

172/365 Kansas City.

Team Schlatter minus Dad went on a Kansas City adventure with Iowa friends to meet up with Arkansas friends!  Our over-nighter was filled with zoo, pool time, American Girls, Legos, and lots and lots of laughter.

20.6.13

171/365 Trust.

On days like today it is so hard not to lean on my own understanding, and trust.  However I do know when I have went out on my own, my path was never straight!  I will choose to trust in the Lord.
(The heart and stick -- a gift from Ben outside at Halcyon House today.)

19.6.13

170/365 Sheep Carousel.

Team Schlatter got to see the new sheep carousel walker in full action tonight with every spot full -- awesome sight to see 8 lambs walking together!

169/365 Freezer Jam.

Grandpa Ron and the boys put some of the fresh strawberries Grandpa has to good use, freezer jam!  It is a Schmitz tradition that the men cook, so I'm getting Ben in the kitchen young :)

17.6.13

168/365 Kick the Can.

Caught this picture last Thursday of the cousins playing "kick the can".

16.6.13

167/365 Father's Day.

Harmon Kilebrew (former third-baseman and slugger for the Minnesota Twins) once said --

"My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard.  Mother would come out and say, “You’re tearing up the grass.”
“We’re not raising grass,” Dad would reply. We’re raising boys.”

I am so thankful for my raising kids husband, in a worrying about the grass world.

15.6.13

166/365 Grandfathers.

What a blessing to have 2 wonderful fathers, and grandfathers for our children.  Blessed.
(This photo was taken at Briana-Sue's first Henry County Fair 2011.)

14.6.13

165/365 Man Cave.

Can't find Ben or Zach, they could be found in their "man cave" apartment #4038.  Better known as the upstairs bedroom at Grandma and Grandpa Schmitz'.  Love the KEEP OUT BOYS RESIDENCE sign!

13.6.13

164/365 Signs.

Team Schlatter had a great Thursday with the usual visiting Grandma Vivian, lunch, and Goodwill. We did find time this afternoon to finish the girls signs project for the sheep barn.  This is a photo of Ben & Jerry's new signs above their gate.

12.6.13

163/365 Strawberry Picking.

Strawberry picking with Briana-Sue this morning, and she picked this berry.  She started giggling and said, "look Mom, it a cow udder strawberry!"  So happy to be raising a farm girl.

11.6.13

162/365 Purple Cow.

Team Schlatter works hard at being "Purple Cow" thinkers.
Our photo of the day is cousin Clara's calf, Barbie, she looks good in purple!

161/365 Cold at Last.

Last year hog house -- this year 3 pen cattle cooler, wash room, and utility room.  So blessed to have a dreamer for a husband, and a family to help us get it done!  Still finishing touches to be done but Team Schlatter is thankful to all the helping hands.

9.6.13

160/365 My Boys.

Great Sunday for Team Schlatter -- church, lunch, grocery shopping, and a COLD cattle cooler!  Great day, feeling very blessed.

8.6.13

159/365 Roses.

Why must we remind ourselves to stop and smell the roses?  But we sure do.  Team Schlatter was able to take a much needed night off from barn work and spend it with great friends!  Food, friends, and fire, make for a great summer night.

7.6.13

6.6.13

157/365 Morning View.

Team Schlatter's newest members -- Ben & Jerry and Laverne & Shirley.  I was the look-out man in the back of the Gator this morning -- love this time of year!

5.6.13

156/365 Plans.

Team Schlatter has always lived by the motto, if you want to make God laugh -- make plans!  Our plans are always changing, and thankfully God has blessed us with very tolerant children to be a part of our crazy life.

4.6.13

155/365 Fruits.

Team Schlatter has had the pleasure of picking the first strawberries from our very own patch!

3.6.13

154/365 Test Drive.

Team Schlatter got to take the new lamb walker out for a test drive today!  The driver and sheep did great.

153/365 Uncle Mike.

Thanks to Uncle Mike, Charlotte is on her way to being a mom! Great evening to pull chairs up in the new barn a visit -- blessed.

1.6.13

152/365 June.

June 1st, can't believe it.  Team Schlatter spent the day at the Schmitz farm working lambs, getting lamb feed, going to a car show, moving lambs, moving goats, moving cows, and cleaning out the sheep barn! Busy day with family and lots accomplished.
